Celtic Tree

This is also my very first time trying my hand at embroidery.

This was hand stitched (no that's not a type), with embroidery thread onto a wool shoulder bag. I'm not quite done with the bag itself, but this part of it is done. The only problem I ran into with this was the fact that I kept running out of a certain color. I've been working with the leftovers of someone's hobby, and so I haven't bought anything to complete this project.

The lighter red is done in what is called a Satin Stitch. The darker red along the outsides is called a Running Stitch. You can also see the Running Stitch in the gray (yes, it really is gray) that edges the roots of the tree, which by the way are a different color red than the rest of the tree, due to the aforementioned problem of running out of a color.

All in all, I'm rather pleased with it.

Approximately 20 hours worth of sewing.
